The first week of NaNoWriMo is over. It’s been a pretty good week, I must admit. It didn’t start off so hot but I kept up with my word count goals each day. It was so nice to finally start writing the story that’s been in my head for months! The highlight of my entire week, though, was my goal to write 5,000 words over the weekend. That’s 2,500 words each day. I hopped on with @NaNoWordSprints and my husband graciously took the baby for me and believe it or not, it was way easier than writing only my mandatory 1,667 words. I think it’s because I made writing more of a priority since I knew I had so much more to do. Well, I did it. I wrote 5,197 words, in fact. I was on a writing high!
Now we all slide into Week 2, the week known for writers losing their bravery and stories committing suicide. I’ve already seen the dip. Maybe I burnt myself out this weekend with all the extra writing. I have definitely hit the point in my story where I’m thinking, what comes next? I wrote all the beginning plot points I had outlined and now I’m out of ideas. It seems I’m stuck at Point A, looking at Point B and wondering, how do I get there? I only got 1,000 words written yesterday, which for a “day off” isn’t too bad but better than that, the mini break gave me an idea on how to get to Point B.
I just have to keep moving forward.
Current Word Count: 15,014/50,000 (30%)
Wow wow wow. Chills up and down me right now, though I’m not too happy since I’m freezing already!! 😛 I think you’ve captured what every woman has been through at one point in some sense. I know I have! Very good work! Can’t wait for more!! *patiently taps foot*
Lol! Take that, Chris Baty! You don’t have rockin’ friends like I do that make me want to write MORE!
I’m so glad you like it! I’m in love with this story. I was actually giggling and semi-hyperventilating today at the coffee shop while writing. 😀
Ooooo now I would had liked to have watched that…. 😉
Lol! I HOPE no one was looking. That would be embarrassing.
I like it. A promising beginning … and so lyrical. Mine’s more … well, not packed with imagery.
Thank you! I’m sure your beginning has your usual charm. 😉 Plus, I’ve been writing this beginning in my head for months before I actually wrote it out.
Hi! I’m here. I read.
I don’t want to say much since you’re still working on it. I do like it though. 🙂
Thank you on both accounts. 😉
