My Debut Novel Has Sold in a 2-Book Deal!

Wow. It is so crazy to finally write those words!

For those of you who have been following me since the beginning (I recently looked back and discovered that I’ve been writing this blog for 8 years!), you’ve seen me through so much. I started this blog back when I really didn’t know much about writing and absolutely nothing about publishing and I think it might be one of the best decisions I ever made. Blogging and connecting with other writers on social media has been my education–a hands-on degree, if you will–and often times, it was the only thing that kept me hanging on through the ups and downs of this journey.

Over two years ago, I shared the news that I had signed with an agent but from there, the work only got harder–the highs higher, the lows lower. There were several rounds of revisions, some really close calls, lots of rejections, talks about what we would do if the book didn’t sell, and then…

My Dreams Came True

One Friday afternoon a couple of months ago, I got the call from my agent saying we had sold my debut novel, along with my next book, to an absolute dream publisher!! I cried, I shrieked a little, I may have told my sweet agent to Shut! Up! once or twice. These last couple of months have been a dream come true, and then some, and then some more, which is why it’s taken me so long to share this news with you and why it’s still only half the news.

I don’t yet have the green light to give you the details of who I will be working with because they are in the works of making a big announcement themselves, but it means the world to me to be able to share this milestone with you now. Suffice to say, something very exciting is happening and I am speechless about getting to be a part of it. I should be able to give you all the details sometime in the next couple of months, but in the meantime, I am beyond thrilled to announce that my debut women’s fiction novel, Letting Go of You, will be released in the summer of next year and will be available in book stores everywhere! I will be taking you along each step along the way, as I always have, and I can’t wait!

Thank you a million times for always being supportive and encouraging–I can’t tell you how much it means to me, truly.

Here we go…on to the next chapter!

Jamie Raintree is the author of Perfectly Undone and Midnight at the Wandering Vineyard. She is a voracious student of life, which is why she became a writer, where she could put all that acquired information to good use. She is a mother of two, a wife, a businesswoman, a nature-lover, and a wannabe yogi. She also teaches writers about business and productivity. Since the setting is always an important part of her books, she is happy to call the Rocky Mountains of Northern Colorado her home and inspiration.
