National Novel Writing Month 2013 – Another Win!

November and National Novel Writing Month are over and I’m proud to say I have another win under my belt! Six and counting! I never cease to be motivated by other Wrimos and the members of my online writing groups (hi, PWHers!) and there’s no way I could do it without them. Thanks to all of you wrote alongside me and encouraged me this month! And, as always, thanks to the husband who knows that November means putting up with my month-long absence. Love you!

I’m starting to feel like NaNoWriMo is a writing work out because each year it gets a little easier and I’m able to push myself a little further. If you checked out my stats above, you’ll see I finished early this year (I had plans to hit another deadline, but have since realized I need a nice, long nap!). And though there were days I wrote less than a thousand words, on the days I dedicated myself to the writing, I often wrote 2,500 words instead of the minimum 1,667. I even had my first ever in my life 5,000 word day! That was particularly exciting! Unfortunately, I only got about 1/3 through my story which does not bode well for the editing process but I had so much fun and I’m looking forward to diving back into it as soon as I finish editing my first novel.

Congrats to all the other winners and all the other participants! I’ll see you next year!

Jamie Raintree is the author of Perfectly Undone and Midnight at the Wandering Vineyard. She is a voracious student of life, which is why she became a writer, where she could put all that acquired information to good use. She is a mother of two, a wife, a businesswoman, a nature-lover, and a wannabe yogi. She also teaches writers about business and productivity. Since the setting is always an important part of her books, she is happy to call the Rocky Mountains of Northern Colorado her home and inspiration.
