Holding My Breath

Alexis is finishing her Senior year of high school but her sights are already set on college and her acceptance into the journalism program at Berkeley. That is, until her dad hires a new marketing manager at his vineyard–Sam…the most gorgeous man she’s ever seen.

Alexis works with her father every summer to save money for college and this year, she will be working as Sam’s assistant. He’s professional, well-dressed and amazing at his job, so it isn’t long before her father invites his star employee to their home, a villa nestled behind their vineyard in beautiful Santa Barbara, California. Over the summer, Alexis accompanies her dad and Sam as they spend their weekends sampling wine, horseback riding and talking business into the early hours of the night. Sam is seven years older than Alexis but that doesn’t matter because Alexis knows she could never catch the eye of someone so utterly breathtaking. Except that their conversations turn to more than business when her father isn’t around.

As the summer goes on, Alexis’ relationship with Sam only becomes more confusing. They share their dreams under the stars but the next morning, it’s all business. Their time together is running out and before Alexis leaves for college, she has to know if what they have is more than grapes and moonlit secrets.
