Event: “Writers Online” Workshop at the Old Town Book Fair in Fort Collins

Now that I’ve got the time nailed down I can finally announce my first official speaking engagement! I’m so excited! I always thought of speaking as something I wanted to do, but something that wouldn’t happen until far, far into the future. Like with writing, I assumed I had to have some kind of degree or special permission to get started, but when a friend asked me if I wanted to apply to present at a conference with her, I filled out the application and realized I had more experience to offer than I thought. Ultimately, my friend and I didn’t get chosen for the conference, but it encouraged me to apply to other places.

Being a singer and dancer, I’ve spent my entire life on stage, and I’ve been known to dissolve a wedding to tears. (I’ve also been known to be a Maid of Honor more than I would have ever imagined.) I spout off (probably unsolicited) advice to my friends all the time and I finally have the opportunity to bring all those things together! Well, I hope I don’t make anyone cry but I will be talking about navigating Twitter and Facebook so it’s possible.

So without further ado, if you’re in or near Fort Collins, Colorado, here’s where you can find me:

Connect with potential readers and put your finger on the pulse of the publishing industry by creating an effective presence on Facebook, Twitter, and your own author website.

Jamie Raintree is the author of Perfectly Undone and Midnight at the Wandering Vineyard. She is a voracious student of life, which is why she became a writer, where she could put all that acquired information to good use. She is a mother of two, a wife, a businesswoman, a nature-lover, and a wannabe yogi. She also teaches writers about business and productivity. Since the setting is always an important part of her books, she is happy to call the Rocky Mountains of Northern Colorado her home and inspiration.
